Seattle and West Seattle
The magnificence of The Pacific Northwest is completely arresting.
I began my trip arriving in Seatac and settling into Seattle. By morning light I would be embarking on an epic cross-country trip. My itinerary would bring me through Seattle, Tacoma, Snoqualmie, Yakima, Kennewick and Cle Elum. I love the thrill of being in a new place with eyes searching endlessly for adventure and beauty. Traveling has taught me to have a completely authentic experience everywhere I go.
Washington offers the most beautiful backdrops of Mt. Rainer National Park and the Cascade Mountains. Seattle and West Seattle offer many amazing panoramic views of its stunning mountainous ranges, most notably Mt. Rainer. Mt. Rainer is the tallest mountain in the Cascades and is actually a volcano. You can see many significant mountains and peaks including Mount Rainer, The Cascades and The Olympics from several viewpoints between Seattle and Tacoma.
Seattle is cold and gray, and gods, its striking. First up, le coffee. You can’t go to Seattle and not have a cup of coffee from an official Seattle Starbucks! I was quite literally in coffee heaven. We then went by to check out the Starbucks headquarters. I rolled my gold card between my fingers thinking how many frappes and lattes I have drunk in my life, and couldn’t help but smile.
West Seattle is a coastal beach town with impressive views of the surrounding mountains, greenery, and oceanfront. I ventured off to explore Alki Beach Park and Puget Sound. Interestingly I learned they are part of the Salish Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Alki Beach Park has its very own replica of the Statue of Liberty overlooking Eliot Bay.
I then went to more viewpoints which offer top views of the Cascade Mountains and the Seattle skyline. My next stop was Tacoma, and we got to see the Boeing Everett Factory. The Boeing Everett Factory is where they build airplanes, rockets, and satellites! This airplane assembly factory is the largest building in the world. After Tacoma, it was onward towards Snoqualmie, the most dreamy winter wonderland I ever laid eyes on!
Washington offers many exceptional views from cityscapes to landscapes. The immense high-rises of the numerous skyscrapers are truly splendid. The incredible architectural design will command your full attention. Washington is rich in gorgeous scenery. In Washington, you can visit several national parks, mountains, lakes and ski resorts. There are many outdoor activities including water adventures, mountain climbing, hiking, and so much more!
